BioCirc sells 650,000 tons of carbon removals to Microsoft through 5 BECCS sites
In Denmark, BioCirc has entered into an agreement with Microsoft to deliver 650,000 Carbon Removal Units (CRUs) over the next 7 years, equivalent to 650,000 metric tons of permanent CO₂ displacement. This will be done through carbon capture and storage (BECCS) at 5 of BioCirc’s 8 biogas plants. The agreement supports Microsoft’s ambition to become CO₂ negative by 2030 and contributes to increasing the supply of permanent and robust solutions for CO₂ displacement in the circular bioeconomy.
