Bio-based polyurethane market to reach $67.4 million by 2030, research finds

May 24, 2026 |

In Michigan, Stratview Research reported that the global bio-based polyurethane market was estimated at $ 40 million in 2024 and is likely to grow at a CAGR of 9% during 2025-2030 to reach $ 67.4 million in 2030.

“The major growth driver is the rising demand for environmentally sustainable materials in transportation and construction industries, where manufacturers are actively replacing petroleum-based products with bio-based alternatives to reduce carbon emissions and improve sustainability performance,” the research firm said.

“Asia-Pacific is expected to remain the largest market for bio-based polyurethane during the forecast period due to the high availability of synthetic diisocyanates and strong production capabilities across the region. China continues to witness significant growth in bio-based polyurethane development, supported by its expanding construction industry and increasing demand for sustainable materials across industrial applications. The region’s large-scale manufacturing ecosystem and growing focus on environmentally friendly materials are expected to create long-term opportunities for bio-based polyurethane producers and raw material suppliers,” it added.
