Bentley to use SAF for airfreight of customer cars
In India, BioEnergy Times reported that Bentley Motors has announced that it will use SAF for all airfreight shipments of customer cars worldwide, a move aimed at cutting emissions from its global logistics operations.
The decision takes effect immediately and forms part of the company’s wider efforts to reduce carbon emissions in its supply chain. Bentley said air transport is used only in limited situations such as urgent deliveries or specific customer requirements, but when it is necessary the company will now rely on SAF instead of conventional aviation fuel, according to the report.
Bentley said it has already transported several customer vehicles using SAF and recorded significant reductions in emissions compared with regular aviation fuel.
Currently, the use of SAF applies to all airfreight shipments of customer vehicles, while the company is also exploring the possibility of extending the fuel to other logistics operations that require air transport, the report added.
