Be8 takes over Alto Araguaia biodiesel facility

March 4, 2026 |

In Brazil, Be8 officially took over the operation of the industrial biodiesel unit of Alto Araguaia (MT) on Tuesday. The closing of the operation, announced in November last year, occurred after the completion of the approval stages of the Administrative Council of Economic Defense (CADE). With the sixth operation in the sector, the company consolidates leadership with about 15% participation in national biodiesel production.

The unit, originally founded in 2008, underwent different restructurings over the years and was acquired in 2024 by the Agroindustrial Union group, named Phoenix, before being incorporated into Be8. Now, it integrates the company’s industrial ecosystem, aligned with its standards of governance, operational efficiency and sustainability.
With the new plant, Be8 strengthens its position as one of the main suppliers of biodiesel in the country, contributing to the fulfillment of the mandatory mixing targets, as well as to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector.
