Bangchak launches first commercial Thai SAF production
In Thailand, Bangchak Group has launched Thailand’s first commercial production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from the country’s first 100% HEFA-SPK SAF Stand Alone production unit at Bangchak Phra Khanong Refinery. The milestone marks an important step in Thailand’s transition toward future energy, supporting Net Zero ambitions while responding to growing demand for sustainable aviation fuel in Thailand and overseas. The Group is also set to make its first SAF export. HEFA-SPK stands for Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosene, a type of SAF produced from renewable feedstocks such as used cooking oil.
