Argentina projects a record harvest of 157.8 million tons in the 2026/27 season
In Argentina, Rosario Finanzas reported that the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BdeC) projects an unprecedented 2026/27 grain harvest in Argentina, reaching an estimated volume of 157.8 million tons.
This figure represents a 0.5% increase compared to the previous cycle, which would translate to an additional 11 million tons. The planted area is also expected to experience a slight expansion of 0.2%, reaching 37.02 million hectares, according to the report.
The main boost would come from a significant increase in corn production, expected to grow by 31% to 66 million tons, and soybeans, with a 7% increase to 53.6 million tons. Sorghum would also contribute with a 1.8% expansion to 2.85 million tons, the report added.
