Anec reduces its projection for soybean shipments in May to 15.87 million tons.
In Brazil, UOL reported that the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec) reduced its projection for soybean exports in May to 15.87 million tons, a 1.6% decrease compared to the 16.13 million tons estimated the previous week.
This volume represents an 11.9% increase compared to the 14.18 million tons shipped in May 2025. For corn, Anec lowered its estimate for May shipments to 367,300 tons, compared to the 419,700 tons projected the previous week, a 12.5% decrease. This volume exceeds by 437.0% the 68,400 tons exported in the same month of 2025.
From January to April, Brazil exported 43.10 million tons of soybeans, compared to 40.08 million tons in the same period of 2025, according to the report.
China remained the main destination for Brazilian soybeans from January to April, absorbing 70% of shipments, followed by Spain (4%), Turkey (4%), and Thailand (3%).
