AgRural raises its forecast for Brazil’s soybean crop to 182.7 million tons.

October 11, 2026 |

In Brazil, Reuters reported that Brazil’s 2026/27 soybean crop is expected to reach a record 182.7 million tons, up 100,000 tons from the previous estimate, according to an AgRural analyst.

The consulting firm raised its forecast for Brazil’s soybean crop due to an adjustment in the expected planted area, now estimated at 49.159 million hectares, according to the report.

“The estimate increased due to fine-tuning regarding the planted area,” said analyst Adriano Gomes. He stressed that productivity is still estimated based on trend lines, considering that planting is only just beginning.

The area planted with soybeans in Brazil is expected to increase by about 1% compared to the previous season, one of the smallest increases in several years, with producers dealing with tighter margins amid rising production costs, the report added.
