ABO Energy sells H2 hub to Tyczka Hydrogen

August 20, 2026 |

In Germany, ABO Energy has sold a hydrogen project – comprising an electrolyzer, a hydrogen refueling station, and a trailer filling station – to Tyczka Hydrogen.

The plant is located in Huenfeld, Germany, and has been producing RNFBO-certified green hydrogen for fuel cell busses and lorries since August 2025. RNFBO stands for Renewable Fuel of Non-Biological Origin and refers to advanced fuels that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Following several years of planning and 13 months of construction, ABO Energy inaugurated the project and commissioned it in the summer of 2025. In July 2025, the plant became one of the first in Germany to receive TÜV certification under the CertifHy EU RNFBO Voluntary Scheme for green hydrogen.

Since then, the 5-megawatt electrolyzer has been producing up to 450 tons of hydrogen annually for the 350-bar refueling station and the hydrogen filling station, the company said.
