BASF brings Cincinnati APG expansion online
In Ohio, BASF has inaugurated an expansion of alkyl polyglucosides production capacity at its Cincinnati site. APGs are 100% biobased and readily biodegradable surfactants, according to OECD 301. Their “excellent” performance and compatibility with other surfactants make them highly versatile ingredients for personal care, home care, industrial and institutional cleaning, industrial formulations, and agricultural applications, according to BASF.
First announced in 2023, the expansion enhances BASF’s ability to supply customers from within North America while increasing agility across its global production network.
In addition to Cincinnati, BASF produces APGs at sites in Düsseldorf, Germany; Jinshan, China; and Bangpakong, Thailand. Together, these facilities form a global manufacturing network that enables BASF to provide reliable supply and greater responsiveness to customer needs across regions.
