Demeter secures waste feedstock supplier for Florida biomethanol project

October 7, 2026 |

In the United States, Demeter Energy announced Oct. 5 that it signed a feedstock supply term sheet with Veransa Group to provide urban wood and green waste for a planned biomethanol and carbon capture facility at SeaPort Manatee, Florida, targeting marine fuel and other low carbon markets.

The agreement calls for Veransa to supply up to 325,000 tons of feedstock annually, primarily from municipal and commercial waste streams in the greater Tampa Bay region.

Demeter plans to produce approximately 100,000 metric tons of biomethanol annually and capture and permanently store about 200,000 metric tons of biogenic carbon dioxide each year.

The company is advancing engineering, permitting, environmental reviews and financing ahead of a final investment decision.
