Moeve teams with Iberian Smart Financial Agro to pilot 100% HVO in farm machinery

October 5, 2026 |

In Spain, Moeve has reached an agreement with ISFA (Iberian Smart Financial Agro) to carry out a pilot project to reduce emissions associated with heavy agricultural machinery. This initiative will allow to evaluate the use of 100% renewable diesel (HVO) in operations of the agricultural sector, which can be incorporated into current engines and reduce CO 2 emissions by up to 90% throughout their life cycle compared to traditional diesel.

The test, which began in June and will last approximately six months, is carried out on the farms that ISFA manages in the municipality of Logrosán (Cáceres), covering an area of about 600 hectares. During this period, Moeve will supply 15,000 liters of 100% renewable diesel (HVO), produced from organic waste, which will be used to power a fleet of 12 agricultural vehicles, composed of eight tractors and four harvesters. 28% of ISFA’s carbon emissions come from its agricultural machinery, through this supply the emission of 43 tons of CO2 will be avoided and the performance of renewable fuels will be evaluated as a sustainable alternative and immediate incorporation for difficult-to-electrification sectors such as heavy, air and maritime transport.
