Germany opens funding call for hydrogen projects abroad

October 1, 2026 |

In Serbia, Balkan Green Energy News reported that the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) of Germany issued a call to continue supporting the global deployment of renewable hydrogen and its derivatives.

In the third round, domestic companies have the opportunity to submit project proposals by December 17. Potential beneficiaries can also be based elsewhere within the European Economic Area or Switzerland, but with a branch or subsidiary in Germany, according to the report.

The aim is to strengthen the use of German hydrogen technologies in industrial production facilities, as well as to prepare new markets and import routes for hydrogen products. Companies can receive funding of up to $34 million million per project for the years 2027 to 2030, the report added.
