In Denmark, Novonesis will invest €600 million ($696 million) to expand its facility in Patalganga, India and build one of the world’s most advanced enzyme production facilities to meet rising global demand for biosolutions.

The Patalganga expansion, which is expected to be fully operational in 2030, will produce enzymes for a broad range of industries, including biofuels, household care, and food and beverages.

“This state-of-the-art facility will be integrated into the company’s global production footprint and bring Novonesis closer to customers across the Middle East, India, and Africa,” Ester Baiget, President & CEO of Novonesis, said in a press statement. “These markets represent an important and growing part of the company’s business and are expected to grow faster than developed markets in the coming years.
