Indonesia expands B50 biodiesel deployment
In Indonesia, the Jakarta Globe reports Indonesia is moving toward broader implementation of B50 biodiesel, with the higher blend reaching most Pertamina fuel stations as the government advances its program to increase domestic palm-oil use in transportation fuel. The rollout is intended to reduce dependence on imported diesel, strengthen energy security and absorb domestic palm-oil production. The expansion follows Indonesia’s progression from B35 to B40 and reflects the government’s ambition to make B50 a major component of its fuel strategy. The program could significantly increase domestic biodiesel demand while supporting the country’s palm-oil industry.
