Deeside waste-to-energy plant adds carbon capture

In the UK, the Leader newspaper reports the Deeside Anaerobic Digestion Clean Energy Plant in the UK is adding carbon capture and liquefaction to its waste-to-energy operations. The facility will separate and purify carbon dioxide from biomethane processing, compressing it into liquid form for off-site transport and potential industrial uses. Initially, one 24-ton container of liquid CO2 is expected to leave the site daily, increasing to three. Once fully operational, the plant is designed to produce about 41,182 cubic meters of biogas and 16,000 tons of CO2 annually while reducing landfill waste and increasing recycling.
