Gevo cancels South Dakota SAF project
In Colorado, Platts reports Gevo has canceled its planned ATJ-60 sustainable aviation fuel plant in Lake Preston, South Dakota, after failing to secure the carbon dioxide transportation and storage infrastructure needed for the project. The company recorded a $176 million noncash impairment charge and will instead focus on its North Dakota ethanol and carbon capture operations. ATJ-60 was designed to produce up to 60 million gallons of SAF annually from corn ethanol while sequestering carbon dioxide. Gevo also raised its 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance to more than $60 million, supported by clean-fuel incentives and Canadian market access.
