Nearly 7% of Brazil’s GDP seen coming from soybean and biodiesel this year

In Brazil, Correio do Povo reports the GDP of the soybean and biodiesel chain in Brazil can advance 6.87% this year, and reach more than R$ 662 billion. This was what was found by the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea), of Esalq/USP, in partnership with the Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (Abiove).

According to Cepea/Abiove researchers, the result is linked to the harvest of a record harvest in 2025/26 and the intensification of grain processing by the industry. And represent 21.2% of the GDP of agribusiness in 2026, of R$ 3.125 trillion, and 4.8% of the national GDP.
