S-OIL begins B30 marine fuel supply in Ulsan
In South Korea, S-OIL said July 22 it had begun supplying B30 marine fuel in Ulsan, blending very low sulfur fuel oil from its Onsan refinery with 30% biofuel produced and stored in the region to meet growing demand for lower-carbon shipping fuels.
The company has established an integrated Ulsan-area system covering feedstock procurement, blending, storage and delivery. Keeping the process within one region reduces transportation requirements and improves supply efficiency.
S-OIL said Ulsan Port has strong demand for bio-blended marine fuel, particularly from car carriers, giving the company access to a concentrated customer base. The launch expands its lower-carbon marine fuel portfolio as shipowners respond to International Maritime Organization and European Union requirements.
