Soccer star Haaland tees off at sea with fish food golf balls
In Italy, World Cup standout Erling Haaland has posted himself on social media engaging in some well-deserved, post-tournament R&R. The Norwegian star videoed himself hitting golf balls off a yacht in the Mediterranean—and later clarified to curious fans that the balls were biodegradable.
Haaland said on Snapchat that the golf balls actually dissolve in the water and become fish food. He did not specify the manufacturer, but Albus Golf of Spain manufactures and sells such balls under the name EcoBioball. The balls are comprised of a biodegradable polymer shell with fish food inside.
Haaland’s towering frame and explosive playing style made him one of the world’s most recognizable and feared forwards during the recent World Cup. His distinctive appearance and posture also made him the subject of many of the tournament’s cheekiest memes, as well as a catchy anthem.
Norway made it to the quarterfinals, before losing 2-1 to England in extra time.
