BNDES finances $11.9M grain storage expansion to support corn ethanol industry

In Brazil, the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) approved financing of R$ 60.5 million for the Coamo Agroindustrial Cooperativa, with the objective of expanding the capacity of grain storage and improving the logistics infrastructure in two units in Paraná.

With the resources, five silos with a total capacity of 32,700 tons in the corn ethanol industry, in Campo Mourão, Central-West of Paraná, will be built. The operation also enables the expansion of the Rio Ivaí unit, in São João do Ivaí, Northern Paraná, with two silos of 10,000 tons each, in addition to improvements in drying and transport systems, raising the capacity of the unit from the current 40,000 to 60,,, tons.
