Hong Kong completes record green methanol bunkering
In China, Venture Energy and Sinopec Hong Kong supplied 1,000 tonnes of green methanol to a China Merchants RoRo vessel in Hong Kong on July 7, in the city’s largest single green methanol delivery to date.
Shanghai Shenji Energy, an affiliate of Shenergy Group, produced the fuel, and Venture Energy arranged its shipment to Hong Kong. The operation linked methanol production in eastern China with marine fuel demand in the Greater Bay Area.
The vessel is operated by China Merchants Shenzhen Shipping, a subsidiary of China Merchants Group. Venture Energy said it will continue working with fuel producers, logistics providers and bunker suppliers on future deliveries.
