U.S. ethanol stocks hit lowest level of 2026

July 8, 2026 |

In Washington, Brownfield Ag News reports Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol inventories fell sharply last week to 23.928 million barrels, their lowest level since early January, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Stocks declined by 762,000 barrels from the previous week and were slightly below year-ago levels, reflecting strong domestic demand. Ethanol production averaged 1.093 million barrels per day, down week over week but above last year. Meanwhile, ethanol exports climbed to 200,000 barrels per day, suggesting stronger overseas demand, particularly as Gulf Coast inventories increased. The USDA will release its next corn-for-ethanol use estimate on Friday.
