Evos breaks ground on methanol and ethanol terminal expansion in Rotterdam

July 1, 2026 |

In the Netherlands, Evos and the Port of Rotterdam held a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of construction on Evos’s methanol and ethanol expansion project at its Rotterdam terminal, scheduled to become operational in early 2028. The project includes five new storage tanks with combined capacity of 67,500 cubic meters, a new pump station, and a new jetty.

Evos CEO Daan Vos said the expansion strengthens Rotterdam’s position in methanol and ethanol logistics, including low-carbon methanol, and gives customers “the capacity they need as markets continue to change.” The company said the additional capacity will serve industrial customers as well as the developing market for marine fuel bunkering.
