POWERGRID Wins TBCB project for green hydrogen and green ammonia transmission system in India

In India, SolarQuarter reported that POWERGRID Corporation of India has secured a major transmission infrastructure project aimed at supporting upcoming green hydrogen and green ammonia developments in Andhra Pradesh.

The company announced that it has been declared the successful bidder under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process and received the Letter of Intent (LoI) on June 12, 2026.

The project, titled “Transmission System for Proposed Green Hydrogen/Green Ammonia Projects in Kakinada Area (Phase-I),” will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis. The transmission system is intended to provide the necessary grid infrastructure for emerging green hydrogen and green ammonia facilities planned in the Kakinada region of Andhra Pradesh, according to the report.
