ZymoChem to work with Agile BioFoundry to enhance development of its bioproducts

January 29, 2026 |

In California,  ZymoChem announced a partnership with the Agile BioFoundry (ABF), funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO), to enhance development of its bioproducts. In collaboration with the ABF, a consortium of U.S. National Laboratories focused on advancing industrial biomanufacturing of fuels and chemicals, ZymoChem will enhance its research on bio-adipic acid, a critical precursor ingredient to manufacturing bio-nylon 6,6.

National Labs and BioFoundries funded by the government, like ABF, are integral for private companies seeking to improve the yields of their chemical manufacturing and to commercialize their technologies.  These academic labs direct public monies to provide external, state-of-the-art research tools that speed up the optimization of novel technology, allowing companies like ZymoChem to focus their internal efforts and resources on scaling processes and reducing cost.
