In Argentina, Econo Journal reported that local state-controlled oil firm YPF and Essential Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to evaluate the feasibility of developing a biorefinery in the province of Santa Fe.
The aim of the project is to reuse the facilities of YPF’s non-operational refinery in the town of San Lorenzo, promoting sustainable fuel production.
“This strategic alliance is part of the ongoing process of reviewing YPF’s portfolio, promoted by its 4×4 Plan and implemented in 2024, which prioritizes sustainability, profitability and value creation,” said YPF.
“This project reinforces the commitment of both companies to the development of clean energy and environmental protection,” the company added.
