In Bulgaria, Renewables Now reported that global energy consultancy Xodus has been allocated land in Western Australia’s Mid-West region where it will develop a large commercial-scale green hydrogen and ammonia project. The company has secured land in state’s Oakajee Strategic Industrial Area. When it first unveiled the proposal in late 2022, the consultancy said that the plan is to start with 150 MW in Phase 1, then expand to 500 MW in Phase 2 and finally reach up to 1 GW in Phase 3, according to the report. The project, previously called MercurHy, will now be realiszd under the Warradarge Energy banner in two phases. Xodus and its partner Warradarge Energy are already working on the initial phase, which is well advanced and will supply domestic green hydrogen to the mining and heavy transport sectors. Agreements to secure power from an existing wind farm are in progress and offtake partners are onboard, Xodus said.
