In the UK, Fuel Cells Works reported that the city of Wuhan, in China, has launched its hydrogen logistics rollout with the delivery of 50 fuel cell electric trucks and signed orders for more than 600 hydrogen-powered vehicles, marking the first major dispatch since the city was chosen for the national hydrogen energy pilot program.

The city-level deployment includes 15 cooperation agreements across vehicle manufacturers and hydrogen supply chain players, with participating firms such as Dongrun Automobile, Dongfeng Huashen, and Guangzhou Yuntao.

Hubei Jiaheyun Industry was among the first recipients, securing 150 trucks at once, according to the report.

“Compared to traditional fuel-powered heavy-duty trucks, hydrogen-powered trucks reduce energy consumption costs by more than 30% per 100 kilometers. Based on an annual mileage of 150,000 kilometers, a single truck can save over $13,900 annually,” said company chairman Shu Bibo.
