In the UK, WSP said it has been appointed by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) as the lead of two suppliers providing specialist technical advice on the development of the UK’s hydrogen economy.
The new Hydrogen Technical Advisor contract will see WSP support DESNZ in shaping and delivering policies to accelerate the deployment of low-carbon hydrogen projects across the UK.
Under the contract, WSP will provide technical, engineering and regulatory advice to DESNZ on hydrogen production, transport, storage and power applications, as well as business model development, certification schemes, and market frameworks.
Dominic Cook, Project Director for Low Carbon, WSP said: “We’re looking forward to supporting DESNZ as they develop and deliver the UK’s hydrogen strategy. Building on our existing roles in CCUS and GGR, this appointment allows us to continue helping the UK move from policy ambition to delivery reality in its decarbonization journey.”
