In Nepal, Himalaya Diary reported that the first phase of what it claims to be the world’s largest integrated green hydrogen, ammonia and methanol project has come into operation in Songyuan City, Jilin Province, China.
The report stated that the project is expected to produce 45,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, equivalent to about a fifth of China’s current total hydrogen production. The first phase of the project alone is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 740,000 tons annually.
Developed by China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC), the project is said to have achieved significant technological achievements in large-scale hydrogen production and integrated synthesis of green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol, it added.
