Wild Hydrogen to set up demo sit of carbon-negative hydrogen and biomethane technology
Category: Fuels
Founded by a team from Gloucestershire, Wild Hydrogen is committed to helping industries transition away from fossil fuels with scalable, low-emission solutions. The company’s technology enables the production of clean molecules from organic materials, while capturing carbon dioxide to further reduce emissions, supporting a circular economy approach.
As part of its next phase of development, Wild Hydrogen will shortly be submitting a Screening Request to Stroud District Council for further development at the site within Eastington Trading Estate. The proposed development includes both prospective and retrospective consent for works at Unit 12, supporting ongoing research, design, manufacturing, and testing of hydrogen and biomethane generators. This will involve the installation of hydrogen and biomethane generation equipment, siting of single-storey cabins, construction of boundary walls, fencing, gates, and associated external works.
This Screening Request is the first step in the planning process, which will determine whether an Environmental Impact Assessment is required for the planning application submission.
Unlike large-scale hydrogen production plants, this demonstrator facility is designed for small-scale testing and showcasing of Wild Hydrogen’s innovations to industry partners, policymakers, and researchers.
