In Australia, Optimal Renewable Gas and Solstice Energy have announced a partnership to develop a renewable gas plant at Westbury – the Westbury BioHub. The Westbury BioHub will transform organic waste from within a 200 km radius of the Westbury industrial area into renewable energy in the form of biomethane, and an organic fertilizer. The facility is projected to divert between 86,000 and 150,000 tons of organic waste per year. The project is expected to produce around 320 terajoules of biomethane annually, enough to supply the equivalent of more than 10,000 homes each year.
