Wärtsilä Gas Solutions to supply upgrading system to Maabjerg Biogas

February 25, 2025 |

In Denmark, Wärtsilä Gas Solutions has been contracted to supply a biogas upgrading system to Danish bioenergy provider Maabjerg Biogas, a subsidiary of Skovgaard Energy. The plant will have the capacity to upgrade 6,000 Normal Cubic Meters per Hour (Nm3/h) of raw biogas, thereby significantly scaling up Denmark’s production and utilization of biogas. The order with Wärtsilä was booked in Q1, 2025.

The plant’s large upgrading capacity is crucial to enhancing the efficiency and utilization of biogas as a viable renewable energy source. It will play an important role in Denmark’s ongoing development of a holistic energy strategy, integrating various renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar, and biomass.
