In Spain, local airline Volotea said it has completed its first flight with 50% SAF fuel supplied by Spainish oil company Repsol. The route selected for this event has been the new connection between Madrid and the Region of Murcia, inaugurated last December. Volotea’s first flight with 50% SAF – the maximum allowed by current certifications -, produced and supplied by Repsol, is part of the agreement reached between both companies. The airline also said it is exploring other ways of collaboration for the production of SAF from circular raw materials, along with alternative energy initiatives such as green hydrogen and the electrification of its land fleet.
