In the UK, InsiderMedia reports Associated British Foods has told the government that it will begin shutting down Vivergo Fuels on Monday, August 18, if an agreement hasn’t been reached that will ensure its economic viability in face of the new trade deal with the US. Meld Energy, who has signed a letter of intent with Vivergo Fuels to build a $1.7 billion sustainable aviation fuels facility using Vivergo’s ethanol, says it will look for opportunities outside the UK instead if the ethanol plant is shut down.
