Velocys pulls out of planned Mississippi facility

October 30, 2025 |

In Mississippi, the Natchez Democrat newspaper reports Velocys has pulled out of its planned biofuels facility as it pivots towards Europe, following a buyout last year that saved it from bankruptcy. The company invested $2.2 million towards a levy project as part of its project evaluation process, which led to the total $7 million investment, so even though the company won’t go through with the planned project, local authorities say that 110-acre site is now ready as a plug and play for another project to be readily developed.
