August 10, 2025 |

In Argentina, Bichos de Campo reported that the use of certified soybean seed in 2024/25 in Argentina was estimated at 16.7% by the National Seed Institute (Inase).

While this is higher than the previous season, it still cannot surpass the 20% mark in effect until the 2021/22 season.

The average age of the varieties used in 2024/25 with current ownership was 10 years, while those without ownership averaged 24 years. In the previous cycle, 4.0% of the national area was planted with open-use varieties, the report added.

On the other hand, in 2024/25, 104 non-transgenic soybean cultivars were planted on an area of 232,794 hectares, which represents 1.5% of the national total, according to the report.
