In Ukraine, UkrAgroConsult reported that the American Soybean Association (ASA) welcomed President Trump’s executive order removing diammonium phosphate (DAP), monoammonium phosphate (MAP), and potassium chloride (K) from the list of commodities subject to retaliatory tariffs.
The American Soybean Association (ASA) said these fertilizers are critical to soybean production.
“Input and production costs continue to significantly impact farm profitability. Removing certain commodities from retaliatory tariffs will reduce the cost of key fertilizers used by soybean producers,” the ASA stated.
According to the executive order, diammonium phosphate, monoammonium phosphate, and KCl (K) are no longer subject to tariffs.
“Today, soybean farmers are making difficult financial decisions as they plan for next year’s planting season after an extremely challenging harvest season,” said Caleb Ragland, ASA president and a Kentucky farmer. “This decision will help reduce the cost of one of the key components of soybean production.”
