UMAMI Bioworks and Steakholder Foods achieve 3D-printed, cultivated fish fillets

In Singapore, UMAMI Bioworks and Steakholder Foods have successfully demonstrated the feasibility of producing 3D-printed cultivated fish products at scalable volumes. The two-year project developed a portfolio of prototype designs for premium cultivated fish fillets, leveraging 3D printing technology to create products that mimic the attributes of various fish species.

The work was funded by a Singapore-Israel Industrial R&D grant. The companies are also working with Singapore’s National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster to translate their research into market-ready seafood products. With NAMIC’s support, UMAMI Bioworks and Steakholder Foods aim to refine their 3D-printed fish fillets for both local and international markets.
