UAE hypermarket giant using UCO from its waste oil to power its fleet with biodiesel

In the UAE, the Times of India newspaper reports that hypermarket giant Lulu has, together with Neutral Fuels, begun running its domestic fleet on biodiesel produced from used cooking oil collected at its stores. Lulu has an extensive network of in-store kitchens, restaurants, food courts, and catering partners from which it sources its UCO for processing into biodiesel. Supply volumne contstraints, logistics and vehicle compatiblity with higher blends have all been challenges to the project’s implementation.
