Two suits against Summit Carbon Solutions and the North Dakota Public Service Commission combined

July 17, 2025 |

In North Dakota, the North Dakota Monitor newspaper reports two lawsuits against Summit Carbon Solutions and the North Dakota Public Service Commission have been merged because they are “mirror images” of each other, with plaintiffs and defendants approving of the move. One of the cases against the two entities is brought by Burleigh County where it alleges the PSC didn’t give enough consideration to the safety of the people living near where the pipeline would pass while the other is brought by landowners who dispute the PSC’s approval of permanent underground storage facilities for the CO2 captured and transported via the pipeline.
