Tupy, which owns engine manufacturer MWM, said the first project with Vamos involves 100 trucks to be delivered from this year and used in municipal waste collection in Rio de Janeiro.
MWM will be responsible for providing propulsion technology — including engine, storing system, valves and fuel lines — while Vamos’s unit’s BMB will make the vehicle acquisition and the installation of the components through its special vehicle preparation line, Tupy said in a statement to the market.
