In Spain, in collaboration with Repsol, TUI is piloting this biofuel initiative in parts of its Benidorm fleet of coaches. Starting from mid-October, a portion of the fleet will be running on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil. This trial will assess the effectiveness and performance of renewable diesel in real-world conditions.
Ground transport is just one part of TUI’s efforts to lower emissions. The company has also set emission reduction targets for its airline, cruises, and hotels, which have been validated by the independent Science Based Targets initiative, a collaboration between the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and CDP.
