Toyota Brazil to launch flex fuel R&D center in Sao Paulo

In Brazil, InvestSP reports president of Toyota Brazil, Evandro Maggio, took advantage of a meeting with journalists this Tuesday, the 3rd, to reveal the creation in Brazil of a flex-fuel laboratory, which aims to leverage to local experience in biofuels to develop new technologies in the area.

Initially employing 40 engineers, the new R&D center will be located in Sorocaba, SP, where the company has already has a vehicle production line and is building a second factory to close its Indaiatuba facility, also in the interior of São Paulo state, by the end of the year.

Maggio to comment on any potential new hires to expand the laboratory, but revealed that the project involves engineering from Japan and other subsidiaries, encompassing joint collaboration from the group as a whole.
