In this presentation, researchers chart the progress of a project focused on identifying cost-effective opportunities to deploy transformational clean energy technologies to treat organic wastes. It involves optimized conversion and biorefinery siting analysis, and characterizes the impacts of key assumptions on feedstock prices. The project uses a geospatially explicit, micro-economic optimized siting analysis, coupling experimental technology cost and performance data with real-world bioresource data and transport logistics. The goal is to reduce waste-related social, economic, and environmental harm to at-risk communities. The project aims to deliver a model and results.
