This presentation by Kevin Harrison from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory aims to scale down a hydrogen-biomethanation system into a mobile RD&D platform to enable faster research, IP development & validation, and improved gas mass transfer to reduce the cost of RNG via biomethanation. Operational data from commissioning a 700L system showed achievement of 98% CH4. An LCA determined the carbon intensity of biomethanation produced RNG using dairy biogas and H2 from electrolysis.
