GranBio utilizes its patented AVAP™ technology to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from various biomass residues, establishing a Net-Zero solution without immediate carbon capture. GranBio targets 1 billion gallons per year (GPY) capacity by 2040 by repurposing ten shuttered Pulp and Paper (P&P) mills. The first commercial plant, ENZ, is a $275 million project in Jesup, GA (1.7MG/year capacity), supported by $100 million from DOE, expected to start up in Q2 2028. Repurposing P&P mills offers up to $1 billion in capital cost savings and addresses the loss of over 220,000 jobs since 1995 in that sector.
