BioVeritas introduces the BVK Process to produce “SAF. Unconstrained,” ambitiously aiming to unlock over 100 billion gallons of SAF supply by 2050 from non-traditional wastes and cellulosics. Their key finding is the successful 45,000x scale-up and one year of continuous fermentation of their process. The resulting KEYtones are an advantaged HEFA feedstock, requiring <45% less H2 and demonstrating ~10% greater yield to SAF. ASTM screening is currently underway to include ketones as a HEFA feedstock
