Thailand sets record for palm oil exports in  2024/25

November 2, 2025 |

In Ukraine, UkrAgroConsult reported that Thailand exported a record 1.04 million tons of palm oil in the marketing year 2024/25, marking the highest volume in the country’s history.

The main export destinations remained India, Myanmar, China, and Cambodia, with India accounting for more than 90% of total shipments, according to the report, which cited figures from World Oil.

In September 2025, exports reached 164,000 tons, significantly exceeding market expectations and rising by 37% year-on-year. Of this volume, 159,000 tons were shipped to India, while Myanmar and China imported 4,000 tons and 1,000 tons, respectively, the report added.

The surge in exports followed the lifting of government restrictions on foreign sales in March. This allowed Thai producers to capitalize on high carryover stocks and stronger-than-expected production levels, the report added.
